Abe the Babe is 7 months old!

How? How is he over half of a year old? Zach and I just can't believe what a whirlwind these last months have been. We are looking forward to all of the new adventures to come as Abe is becoming more and more mobile. He seems to be spirited child and we can't wait to see what he comes up with!

In his 7th month of life, Abe:
*went swimming for the first time! He didn't express any emotion other than a few scared glances. We could get him to smile a few times but for the most part, he was cautious and curious about why we were in a big bathtub! Post swim, he hated taking a bath for about 2 weeks, too.

* survived his first weekend away from mom. I went to Madison for the weekend and he stayed with Dad and Grammy Karen. He did great, other than the first night not sleeping well because Dad had friends over and he wanted to be a part of boy's night. He was also miserably stuffed up and coughing, but he didn't let that get in the way of having a fun weekend away from his mom. He was happy to see me though. :)

* visited with Gamma and Gumpa Detko when they stayed at our house.

* went to his first music class with cousin Livvy!

* started getting clingy. Mostly with his mommy, but if she's not there, dad will do! His worst nightmare is when I get home from a day of work and walk right past him into the kitchen to drop my bags. He gets that glance of me and freaks out if I don't run to him right away. How adorable, right?

* became an eating machine! We've tried all kinds of things and Abe likes it all. He loves being a "big kid" and getting his own food. He jabbers away and acts like he is hot stuff while he is feeding himself. Only half of the food gets into his mouth but it is hilarious. His most exotic food samplings have been poutine, black bean salsa, and fried rice!
MMMMM Broccoli and eggs!
* had his 6 month photos taken. We haven't seen any sneak peeks yet but poor kid was off his nap schedule and didn't do so well. Also, he constantly makes goofy faces like below so most of the good pictures were of him staring all derpy at the camera. We did get a few good ones while I held him because once again, it was a "scream if mom isn't right by me!" day.

Being derpy

*visited more brewpubs and looked like the ultimate hipster baby:

*enjoyed many a walk in his stroller. He LOVES riding around. Even Willie says you can tell he just thinks he is the coolest while sitting in his stroller. He hangs an arm out the side, puts his feet up, and enjoys. We get in a walk everyday that it's above 40 and he gets so excited! If only he would keep his sunglasses on!

*moves and grooves everywhere. He rolls all over the place and can get up on all fours. He pulls up on us if we say "UP!" The wheels are turning and we think he'll be doing something new soon because his sleep has been messed up again. I think one morning I'll walk in there and he will be standing up holding on to the crib bars!
