They were greeted with the news that we could get 8-12 inches of snow. Zach and I were horrified. Logan was excited as he hasn't seen a blizzard this year because Seattle was one of the areas of the country with a mild winter.
Thursday night we headed to our local favorite, Saks. (I swear they make $3K a year on us!) Abe munched on pork quesadilla, our new fave happy hour option. We then drive through the snow to Big Wood Brewery for a round.
Friday we woke up to snow. 7 or so inches of it! Zach and I took turns shoveling and Logan played in it. We waited for the traffic to get under control and for Abe to finish his nap and headed to the Mall of America. First ride: Log chute! Everyone getting off the ride was dry so I thought we were safe. Zach sat in the back, Logan had the front. We all screamed at the drop and Logan closed his eyes. Needless to say, Logan and I got drenched! It was fun and the picture of us was priceless. Logan said "No more drops!" and I agreed. It's been too long since I've done a roller coaster, I was scared!
Logan loved the swings, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle ride and Jimmy Neutron Atomic ride. We both agreed that the Fairly Odd Coaster was too crazy!
Abe enjoyed watching the kids and relaxing in his stroller with his feet up, Sophie in mouth.
We spent 6 hours total at the mall and were all exhausted. We followed that up with some pizza and beer (Logan had a juice box). Abe had broccoli and went nuts-grabbing it by the fistful to eat as much as possible!
Saturday we got up and had egg bake and then went bowling. I love bowling with Zach because he hates how much better I am than him. Logan did great and it was a very fun afternoon. Abe played with a ball and even took a nap in the bowling alley!
We played three games and I smoked Zach in all of them!
After a quick Costco run we came home and watched Frozen, napped, and threw the football around. Abe and Logan are best buds!
A few friends came over to watch the Badgers lose (womp womp) and we had veggies, cheese dip, and some more delicious beers.
We wrapped up the weekend with an early Sunday morning trip to Perkins where once again, Abe went bonkers over food. He was grabbing my muffin out of my hand and loved it. He was chatting up a storm and being way too adorable for his own good, getting attention from passerby. However, we found the first food he doesn't like- pancakes! We thought he'd love them, but he made goofy faces and spit them out. Eggs and muffins were a hit though!
We said goodbye to our friends and spent the rest of the day taking walks in the beautiful 55 degree sunshine. Abe logged 3.5 miles in the stroller! We are so looking forward to this weather change, we just are so happy to be outside. We can't wait for picnics in the front yard and days at the park.
