I'm just going to bullet point some highlights here:
- Baby is roughly the size of a prune, but we didn't have any, so I used a strawberry
- I'm kind of pushing my belly out just a bit there. I can feel the top of my uterus now, but I definitely am not showing!
- Baby Detko has a heart beat of 170, which Zach and I got to hear on Monday. I was so nervous until the midwife walked in, and then I felt instantly calm. We talked about the next steps, and then she had me lay down so she could use the doppler. Instantly, what Zach called a "snare drum" popped up. The look on Zach's face was priceless.
- If we can get in, we are doing group prenatal sessions. We meet with a m/w and 5-7 other couples to go over questions together. Then each couple goes back and hears the heartbeat and asks personal questions. Then we have a reunion in September so we can talk too!
- I have actually not gained a single pound yet, but I look chunkier for sure.
- Zach got antsy and told a few friends with a "Do you guys think the Herkimer would mind if I brought along a Little Packer Backer next football season?" text. They were thrilled, and said as long as we put the baby in a sausage and cheese necklace just like his dad, it will be a-ok!
- We are sooooooooo excited to have a baby in our little home. Mom, Dad, dog, and Baby Detko!
