Abe's Merry Christmas

Well, it was more than just a Christmas for Abe, but now that he is here, it is hard to imagine Christmas for ourselves. Abe still has no idea what is going on, but I think he enjoyed his holiday!

First of all, this Christmas season was really hard on all of us because I had to work so many hours to get things done for year-end. Poor kiddo didn't see me much prior to Christmas and then Willie was off for the 2 weeks as well so he got kind of screwed up. Overall though, I think Christmas was a hit with Abe, and Zach and I enjoyed watching that little turkey celebrate.

Pre-Christmas:

We had great intentions to meet Santa but work and a 30th birthday party stomped those out. We will go next year especially since Abe is ALL about Santa, even now, 2 weeks later. He says "Santa" and "ho ho" all the time, and his favorite thing to do is look at our Christmas cards and point out all the ones with Santa on them.

Even though we did not meet Santa, we took a trip to White Bear Lake to take a horse drawn carriage and get s'mores and hot chocolate in between Christmas shopping. Abe loved riding the horseys!

Christmas Eve:

Our good friends Party and Kara were not travelling for Christmas this year as they recently became a family of three when little Adelaide arrived. We invited them to our house for an "adult" dinner along with my sister Jade. They were anxious to get out of the house and we were anxious to hear how life with Lady was going.

The meal was DELICIOUS. Zach made bacon wrapped filets and funeral potatoes, I made an apple pecan spinach salad (that Party graciously provided an amazing dressing for!), and Party made a prosciutto wrapped asparagus with a crisp and yummy mint sauce. We were spoiled!

After dinner Abe and I changed into our Christmas jams. I hope to find a matching stripey set for him next year!

Christmas!
On Christmas morning, Zach came home at 7 and we had an out of this world Pioneer Woman french toast bake with bacon for our breakfast. It was delicious and calorie free. ;) After breakfast we opened some great gifts to one another. Abe's favorite was his caterpillar tunnel, my favorite was my new eye shadow pallette and Zach's was his new Lacy Sunday shirt. I have pictures of this on my other camera, so unfortunately no preview here! Abe enjoyed tearing the paper off the gifts.

After Zach went to bed, Abe and I picked up Auntie Em from the airport. She was so excited to see him! Abe was leery. Who was this crazy woman?

We headed to my parents house where it was a balmy 30+ degrees. Abe spent some time playing outside and had so much fun. He liked falling into the snow and going to see the "tees." (trees). After a bit, he got too hot and immediately needed to hulk out of his coat and hat. It was adorable.

Other activities included decorating cookies, which Abe was a pro at!
