Having a toddler is so awesome. Abe is showing us everyday something new and cool he can do that we didn't know he was capable of!
At his doctors appointment, he really showed us that he knew the concept of "Uh oh," and proceeded to do it all weekend. He'd throw the ball/block/paper on the ground, say "Uh oh!" and wait for you to give it back. Rinse and repeat. Sometimes he'd just sit and do it himself.
He came with us to dinner and to a brewery on Friday night. He ate well, played with blocks, got lots of compliments from onlookers, and yelled DA! at a puppy that was also at the brewery. The owners brought over the puppy to let Abe pet it and he got so excited. Then the puppy jumped and Abe got scared but still wanted to yell "Da! Da!" at it. He said "ba bye" when the puppy left. (so cute)
We tailgated on Saturday and Abe learned that if he climbed up the beanbags board, he could "slide" back down. He did this several times, and had such a look of pride. (Resourceful! Anything can be a playground!)
Saturday we were reading a book and I asked him where the puppy was. He pointed to it! So I went to the next page, and he pointed the puppy out there too! I got through the whole book and he was able to find the puppy each time. I don't know why but this made me so proud!
Sunday I decided to tire him out if possible. I made him walk from our house to the park. He got from our driveway all the way to the end of the cul de sac walking. I carried him about 15 feet and then he walked another good stretch to the playground!
While dada was watching football, I held up pictures of things and asked Abe to identify them. For example, I held up a picture of a baby and an apple and asked him to show me the baby. He got it right! I quizzed him on a couple more and he did so good!
There are so many exclamation points in this post. I'm just really excited about Abe. :)
