10 Month Old Abe the Babe

I'm just going to say it. Even though he isn't quite one year old, we don't have a baby anymore. We have a little person; one who can have very strong opinions, express his needs, show affection, and do a few things for himself.

It is unreal to me.

It seems as though he went from a fairly blobby baby to a person really quickly, and now before I know it, I'm going to have a real live one year old! Whoa!

Abe had a great month with family and friends. I say it all the time but I can't say it enough. One of my biggest hopes and dreams for Abe is that he gets to spend lots of time with people who love him. I want him to learn new things from his aunts and uncles, I want him to cuddle and play with his grandmas and grandpas, I want him to spend time with his mom and dad's friends and their kids. If Zach and I do anything for Abe, I want it to be that we teach him how important friends and family are and how to treat those that you love.

The first weekend in June was spent with Grammy and Grandpa and Auntie Emily and Jade. Our little firecracker smiled so big at Emily, who he hadn't seen in awhile. We spent time going out to brunch, going to a Twins game, and walking around the zoo. Abe had his first taste of real whipped cream!

Abe was baptized over June 29th weekend. The service was a little long, but Abe was such a champ. It was nice to have family over to our house to celebrate! We are excited to send Abe to Sunday School in a few years.

I think the 4th of July is the best holiday of the year, and was glad we had plans this year. I'm assuming we won't see fireworks on the 4th for a few years, but that's ok! Abe had a great time eating as much fruit as he could at my Grandpa's birthday party, and then had a blast playing with his buddy Sawyer at AJ's house! It was so cute to see them actually interacting now that Abe is older. Sawyer went up and down a little slide while Abe observed and then Abe actually went over to try it! They will be best of friends.

Abe said "Da! Da! Daddy!" in context for the first time (that we could really pin down, anyways) on July 5th. It was the MOST ADORABLE thing we had ever seen. Zach was out of town the night before with friends and when he came home, Abe crawled as fast as he could to the gate squealing the words. I think we both died from cuteness.

We spent Abe's 10 month birthday trying out the boat. Unfortunately, Abe was not a fan, but I think under more well rested conditions, we will have a little fisherman on our hands! Abe enjoyed cruising around with the wind in his hair!

I think I'll be in tears writing my next months' post. What a joy to have such a wonderful little boy!
