Abe's first trip to the Zoo

I don't have many pictures because its fairly exhausting taking a newborn to the zoo-if I had him out of his carseat I had my hands full trying to soothe him/change him/feed him, but I did get one of him and his buddy Sawyer before going to look at penguins! 

The day started with Caribou Coffee, at which a super nice woman asked me about my experience so far and told me she was so impressed with me being out of the house on my own she'd buy my coffee. I need to pay it forward! 

The zoo was filled with other moms and dads with strollers but it definitely wasnt very busy which was awesome! Reeve got lots of space to look at what he wanted and AJ and I could push our strollers wherever. I hadn't been to the zoo in years so I enjoyed seeing the new exhibits too! 

Abe did so well!! He ate a little right away and then stayed awake just bumming around in the stroller. He fell asleep while we were at the stinky farm exhibit which was also the least shady area of the zoo so it was nice to just keep him under his carrier. It wasnt until 2 that he had a mini Abe meltdown and needed mom to sit down and feed him RIGHT NOW in the tiger exhibit. :) I got him to calm down enough to put him back in his seat until I could feed him indoors in the air, then we said goodbye to our friends and he slept all the way home! He napped for about 3 hours then- being pushed around all day tired him out! I think he will really enjoy going in the future and that his favorite animals will be the big Russian bear, the monkeys, and the crocodiles. :)
