36 Weeks. HOLY COW.

That's me. Anywhere from 1 week-6 weeks to go if he waits until he's full term or waits until he's overdue and they force him out! I can't believe it. I am seriously in the OMG I can't believe this is going to actually happen stage. I'm slightly over being pregnant but at this point I think I can go the remaining weeks no problem as long as he's cozy in there. I've been very lucky to have a fairly smooth pregnancy but obviously can't wait until he's out and snuggling up in my arms.

It's been awhile since I've updated what Baby is up to these days-he is probably over 6 pounds and is now shedding the downy hair and vernix that covered his body during gestation. He's been practicing breathing, blinking and moving. He should also be gaining fat on his arms and legs and is most likely gaining 1/2 to 1 ounce per day!

I type this entry while sitting at work at the Ronald McDonald House. While I was making up muffins and scrubbing dishes, I thought, "Wow, Zach and I are going to have a pretty crazy transition period!" We are always, always, always going somewhere, doing something. Sure, we both have lazy days (Ahem, Zach more than me!!) but with Zach's crazy schedule and my long hours at Medtronic, we very rarely spend much time at home. This weekend, for example, was a weekend for me to rest-since everyone says "get rest while you can before baby comes!!" Friday night we packed up and went over the Brian and Mel's house for dinner. Although we didn't do a lot of physical activity, it's still rough on my (now swollen) ankles and body to be out till midnight. Then Saturday Zach was off golfing by 8:45 am after I made breakfast, then I went to Target, to work at Medtronic from 10-3, then to Babies R Us, Motherhood Maternity, the butcher shop, and the grocery store. By the time I got home it was 7 PM. No rest for the weary! We made dinner and I threw laundry in and knew I had to be up by 7:15 to come in to the RMH today.

BUT that's what we are used to. That's how its always been-counting the days down to a night off and then filling those nights off with lots of activity. So I think we may have a difficult time adjusting to sitting at home with the baby for the first couple weeks. Yes, he will be exhausting in his own way, but we won't be busy bodying around town, and we wont' be able to just swing in to say hi to so and so or spend 5 hours at work without some planning.

Anyways...although we've been busy, I'm still waiting for that nesting bug to hit! We have organized most of his nursery but have not done the other projects I had in mind. Luckily we still a little time! I hope to get a pan of enchiladas, a pan of lasagna, and a big old pot of chili put in the freezer before our guy arrives, and we have carpet cleaning and various other projects to do too. Nothing mandatory though and that feels great!
