Life with a 3 Month Old Mara Bean + Fathers Day

Our sweet sweet girl just keeps on growing. I know it is because we are busier with Abe at home but I am shocked at how quickly the days go by and she is getting bigger and cuter and older every day.

The things I can say about Mara: She is truly a very content and happy baby. She fusses when she is sleepy or gets scared by a loud noise or quick movement, but otherwise is pretty chill. She is perfectly round and chubby and so soft. She has the cutest little nose and lips, of which drool flows freely from. She needs to have something in her mouth at all times- her hand, our fingers, her Sophie toy, her dress, whatever. I don't feel teeth and it's so early, but girl might be working on the beginnings of teeth.

In her third month with us, she was a busy bee. She:
* made her first trip to Park Falls and did wonderfully in the car. Of course she was a charmer the whole weekend.
* helped celebrate Auntie Jade's graduation from college and looked so pretty doing so!
* took her first trip to Grandma and Bumpa's camper and got to wear a swimsuit out on the pontoon!
* started daycare at Willie's! She's been a champ.
* attended her first dance recital for her cousin Livvy!
* helped Daddy celebrate an early Father's Day.

How cute is she?

No one gets smiles like Daddy gets smiles
The day Mara turned 3 months was the Saturday before her baptism. We had cleaning and food prep to do, but Big Zook whined that he didn't want to stay home and wanted to celebrate Father's Day early. I had been out to brunch that morning leaving him to run non-fun errands with the kids, so he wanted his time to relax and be celebrated. (lol, everyday is Father's Day for Zach!) Despite me telling me there was an entire Sunday specifically designated on the calendar to celebrate him, he wouldn't relent. SO, we headed to a new brewery that has been famed to have a nice area for toddlers. Abe was happy to have a chalkboard, blocks, books, and puzzles to entertain him. Zach and I were happy to have some time to converse over some beer. :) One of my friends saw that we had checked in at the brewery and came over to meet us so we ended up there for much longer than originally anticipated, but it was so fun! We made the mistake of telling Abe that he could play bean bags and of course the bean bags never opened up so we left with a sobbing kid. But we will be back, Lake Monster Brewing!

Father's Day weekend we were pretty busy with baby showers and summer parties, but I was able to surprise Zach with a VERY nice, tall camping chair that he loved. I made a picnic lunch of bagel sandwiches and watermelon on Sunday, then we all took naps and played outside a little bit. It was a very nice low-key day. What a lucky guy to have an Abe the Babe and a Mara Bean to love on him.
